Theresa Heep has extensive experience in communication and research, currently serving as a Referentin Online-Kommunikation at ZEW – Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung since April 2017. Prior roles include a position as Volontärin Presse und Redaktion and a Werkstudentin at Forschungsgruppe Wahlen e.V., where Theresa contributed to the 2016 US election project. Theresa also completed a Praktikum in Performance Materials at BASF, focusing on internal and external communication. Early career experiences include positions as a Sprachförderkraft at the Mannheimer Zentrum für Empirische Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung and various internships at the Europäisches Parlament and Deutscher Bundestag. Theresa holds a Master of Arts in Politikwissenschaft and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Politikwissenschaft and Anglistik/Amerikanistik from Heidelberg University and the University of Mannheim, respectively.

The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim is a non-profit and independent institute with the legal form of a limited liability company (GmbH). Founded in 1990, ZEW is one of Europe’s leading research institutes in economics as well as a member of the Leibniz Association, a network of outstanding research institutes in Germany. Our mission is to conduct research for the benefit of society. In our scientific work – e.g. on digitalisation and innovation, taxes and pensions, equal opportunities and climate protection – we therefore focus on practice-oriented issues.
