Katerina Varfi is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in international law and EU policies. Currently serving as a Legal Adviser in the Legal Service of the Council of the European Union since April 2007, Katerina also holds the position of Senior Policy Advisor, focusing on international negotiations related to critical environmental issues. With previous roles as a Senior Legal Research Fellow at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law and as a Jurist-Linguist at both the Council of the European Union and the European Court of Justice, Katerina's expertise is well-established. Katerina's academic background includes a PhD in International Law from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, along with studies at the University of Cambridge and the Graduate Institute for International Law in Geneva.
