Cheryl Townsel

Cheryl Townsel, S.M., GPC, serves as the Grants and Proposal Manager at the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, focusing on grant writing for the Child Rights Project for the FIFA World Cup 2026. As Board Vice President of the Grant Professionals Association Michigan Chapter since December 2022, Cheryl participates in the Executive Committee. Cheryl's extensive consulting experience, spanning over a decade as President/CEO of Townsel Consulting, LLC, encompasses program management, strategic planning, and grants management, with a notable healthcare background. Previous roles include senior management positions at MPRO and Molina Healthcare Michigan, and leadership in community health initiatives with Detroit Community Care Connection, Inc. and Detroit Area Agency on Aging. Cheryl holds a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oberlin College.
