Jorge Cueva-Vargas

Jorge Cueva-Vargas is a skilled research professional with extensive experience in neuroscience and immunology. Currently serving as a Research Officer at the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM) since September 2021, Jorge previously held positions as a Research Advisor at Université de Montréal and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Eye Institute, focusing on microglial functions in retinal disease. With a robust history of research on glial-neuron interactions in experimental glaucoma during a prior postdoctoral fellowship at CRCHUM and a PhD in Pathology and Cell Biology from Université de Montréal, Jorge's academic foundation is complemented by earlier experience in quality assurance in the beverage industry. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Immunology and Parasitology from UQAM, another Master's in Microbiology and Biotechnology, and a Bachelor's in Biology and Microbiology from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo.
