Carolina Mourato

Carolina Mourato is a highly experienced marine scientist currently serving as a Research Technician at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) since September 2023, focusing on enhancing the competitive capacity of the Portuguese algae sector. Previous roles at CCMAR include Researcher for the AMPIC project and Research Assistant for the SeaForest Portugal project, aimed at restoring kelp forests along the Portuguese coast. Carolina's earlier positions include research internships at CIEMAR, the Oceanographic Centre of Lisbon, and ISPA, where skills in barnacle growth analysis, fish tagging, and habitat characterization were developed. Carolina holds multiple degrees in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from esteemed institutions, including Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and Ghent University.
