Claire Torgerson has over 10 years of work experience in various roles. Claire began their career as a PEAK Afterschool Program Assistant/Site Coordinator for the City of Mount Pleasant, MI from 2006 to 2009, where they provided one-on-one aid for students with special needs and structured daily afterschool studies and activities. From 2009 to 2013, Claire worked as an Early On Intern for the Midland County Educational Service Agency, attending home visits and meetings for children ages 0-3 and their families to create Individualized Education and Family Service Plans.

In 2010, they became a Program Assistant at The Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee, where they planned and facilitated daily activities for participants with special needs, supervised field trips, and worked closely with families, staff, and volunteers. During their time at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center as a Child Life Intern in 2011, Claire provided Child Life services and family-centered care to patients and families in different units. Claire assessed and implemented interventions for patients' social, emotional, and developmental needs and assisted in facilitating hospital-wide Child Life events.
