Gary Li began their work experience in 1988 as a Resident Physician in Emergency Medicine at LA County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. In 1991, they joined Associated Emergency Physicians as an Emergency Medicine Physician until 1998. In 1993, Gary joined CEP America as an Emergency Medicine Physician and later became a Medical Director until 2009. During this time, they also held the position of Associate Regional Medical Director in 2009 and Regional Medical Director for the San Jose Region starting in 2010. From 1998 to 2009, Gary was the Medical Director at the Emergency Department of Good Samaritan Hospital. Additionally, they served as the President of the South Bay Emergency Medical Directors Association from 2005 to 2007.
Gary Li obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of California, Davis in 1984. Following that, they pursued their medical education at the University of California, Davis - School of Medicine and earned their MD degree in 1988. In addition to their formal education, Gary Li obtained the Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in December 2020.
