Burcu Özay

Burcu Özay, PhD, is a Staff Scientist at Cepheid, specializing in Innovation & Technology since September 2021, following a role as Senior Scientist II. Prior to this, Burcu served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Montana State University-Bozeman from January 2015 to July 2021, where significant contributions included developing a novel isothermal DNA amplification reaction for clinical diagnostics. Burcu also held various teaching assistant positions and completed an internship as a Visiting Research Scientist at FYR Diagnostics, where there was a focus on microRNA detection methods. Additional experience includes research roles at the Center for Biofilm Engineering and a laboratory internship at Nobel Ilac A.S. Burcu’s academic credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman, complemented by bachelor's degrees in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and Montana State University-Bozeman.
