Laura Élan

Laura Élan, PE, CISSP, RAC, currently serves as the Director of Product Security at Cepheid, focusing on enhancing healthcare through innovative molecular diagnostics. Previously, Laura was the Sr. Director of Cybersecurity at MxD, where responsibilities included equipping U.S industries with advanced cybersecurity measures. As a Medical XR Advisory Member for the XR Safety Initiative, Laura provided technical and regulatory guidance related to safety standards in healthcare ecosystems utilizing augmented and virtual reality technologies. Laura's experience further includes roles at Baxter International Inc., CSA Group, UL, Validant, Sloan Valve Company, and Baxter Healthcare, where leadership spanned product security, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and new product management. Laura holds dual Master's degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
