Richard Hatchett

Richard Hatchett is currently a Member of the National Academy of Medicine and the Chief Executive Officer of CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations). CEPI was established to develop and deploy new vaccines to prevent future epidemics. Prior to their current roles, Richard served as Deputy Director and Chief Medical Officer at the Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority, Director at the National Security Staff under The White House, and Associate Director for Radiation Countermeasures Research and Emergency Preparedness at the NIH. Richard holds a MD in Medicine from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a BA in English from Vanderbilt University.
