Ramon Gomez Ballesteros

Ramon Gomez Ballesteros has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Ramon has worked at CEPSA since 2000, initially starting as a Jr. Geologist in the Catatumbo Basin in Colombia. Ramon then worked as a Geologist in the Upper Magdalena in Colombia before transitioning to international new business roles, where they served as a Geologist and later as a Sr. Geologist in Illizi Basin, Algeria. In 2006, they were promoted to Lead Geoscientist in the International New Business division at CEPSA.

Starting in 2007, Ramon took on the role of Egypt Geosciences Team Leader and subsequently became the East Llanos Exploration Coordinator in Colombia. In 2012, they were promoted to Exploration Manager for Colombia and later became the Emerging Assets Manager for Suriname, Kenya, Liberia, and Brazil. Most recently, Ramon served as the New Business Subsurface Manager for CEPSA before being appointed as the Director of Strategy, Portfolio & Planning Division at CEPSA EP in November 2020.

Ramon Gomez Ballesteros completed an Executive Management Program at IE Business School from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Petroleum Geology from ENSPM-IFP in 1998-1999. Ramon also holds a Bachelor of Science (Msc) degree in Basin Analysis from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, which they completed from 1992 to 1998.
