Nithianandan Selliah, Ph.D

Global Director Flow Cytometry at Cerba Research

Dr. Nithianandan Selliah has extensive work experience in the field of flow cytometry-based assay development and validation for clinical trials. Nithianandan served as the Global Head of Flow Cytometry at Cerba Research, where they led global teams and collaborated with biotech and pharmaceutical companies to implement assays for clinical trials. During their time at Covance, they worked as a Lead Scientist, overseeing the development and validation of flow cytometry-based assays for various disease indications. Nithianandan also led validation projects globally and validated new flow cytometry software. Prior to this, Dr. Selliah worked as a Staff Scientist at Covance, where they focused on fit-for-purpose assay validation for clinical trials. Nithianandan also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Rowan University, where they contributed to the academic community. Dr. Selliah's experience also includes working as a Scientist/Consultant at Celgene, investigating hematopoietic stem cell differentiation and utilizing red blood cells for cellular therapy. Nithianandan served as a Team Leader in the Lymphocyte Signaling Laboratory at Humigen LLC, focusing on biomarker discovery and drug target identification in autoimmune diseases and cancer. In addition, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Roger Williams Medical Center, where they conducted research on immunotherapy for HIV and developed independent research projects. Nithianandan also held the position of Assistant Professor (Research) at Boston University School of Medicine during their tenure at Roger Williams Medical Center. Dr. Selliah began their career as a Research Associate at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where they conducted research on the effect of HIV on T cell function and supervised lab assistants. Nithianandan also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at National Jewish Health.

Nithianandan Selliah, Ph.D has a strong educational background. Nithianandan obtained their Ph.D in Immunology from the University of Kentucky. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky where they received a BSc with Distinction in Microbiology with Departmental Honors. In addition to their formal education, Dr. Selliah has also earned a certification in "J.T. O'Donnell on Making Recruiters Come to You" from LinkedIn in July 2019.
