Vincent Michel

Vincent Michel is a distinguished professor of Classical Archaeology in the Eastern Mediterranean at Université de Poitiers since September 2005, where Vincent also completed their Habilitation à diriger des recherches in 2014. Vincent serves as the Director of the Master 2 Professional program in "Patrimoines, Musées & Multimédia" at CelTrac and is involved in various educational roles at Sciences Po and the École du Louvre, focusing on the illicit trafficking of cultural properties. In addition to these academic positions, Vincent plays a significant role in the field of archaeology as the Director of the French Archaeological Mission for Ancient Libya and the French Archaeological Mission at Mambré Oak in Hebron, while also serving as an expert consultant on cultural heritage protection across multiple organizations. Vincent is a member of several strategic institutions, including the French Institute of the Near East and the Cercle K2, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage. Education includes a doctorate in Art History and Archaeology and a license in law, with extensive training at prestigious institutions such as Université Paris-Sorbonne and École du Louvre.
