Jan Vlietinck

Jan Vlietinck has a diverse work experience spanning various research and engineering roles. Jan is currently employed at Cerence Inc. as a Senior Principal Research Engineer since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Research Engineer at Cerence Inc. from October 2019 to January 2022. Before joining Cerence Inc., Jan worked at Nuance Communications as a Principal Research Engineer from October 2012 to October 2019. Jan also gained research experience at Agfa Healthcare as a Researcher from 2003 to 2012. Earlier in their career, Jan worked as an R&D Engineer at Barco from 1996 to 2003 and as an R&D Engineer/Phd at IMEC from 1993 to 1996.

Jan Vlietinck completed their education with a Ph.D. in Telecommunication from Ghent University, where they were a Ph.D. candidate from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Ghent University in 1993. Their earlier education includes a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering from Ghent University, which they completed from 1987 to 1992.
