Ricky Hoobler

Ricky Hoobler has a diverse work experience in design and user experience. Ricky is currently working as the VP of Experience Design at Cerence Inc. since 2023. Prior to that, they served as an advisory board member and adjunct faculty at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering starting in 2019. From 2017 to 2023, Ricky worked at iRobot as the VP of Design, where they led various successful design initiatives such as scaling the design team, building a high-performing design team, and implementing design research. Before that, they were the Global UX Design Director at Motorola from 2002 to 2017. Ricky started their career at Fitch, Inc. as a Senior Interaction Designer/Group Head from 1999 to 2002.

Ricky Hoobler earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Design from Carnegie Mellon University, attending from 1997 to 1999. Ricky also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy, Cum Laude, from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, Ricky obtained the CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) certification from an undisclosed institution in March 2017.
