Oby Sumampouw

Oby Sumampouw has a diverse work experience spanning from 2005 to the present. Oby has held various positions in different companies, including Cermati.com, LinkedIn, Oracle, Google, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Their most recent position is the CTO & Co-founder at cermati.com, where they helped build a financial technology company in Indonesia. Oby was responsible for creating the product and tech infrastructure, establishing organizational values and culture, setting up company legal structures, and managing complex engineering and data initiatives.

Before that, they worked at LinkedIn as a Senior Software Engineer in two different roles. In the Service Infrastructure team, Oby was involved in the technical aspects below the application code, serving other software engineers at LinkedIn. Oby also worked as a Senior Software Engineer in Content Intelligence, taking care of the entire lifecycle of content at LinkedIn, including acquisition through various channels.

Oby also has experience working at Oracle as a Senior Application Engineer, specializing in web application development for Oracle's supplier management software. Oby used J2EE and Oracle proprietary technologies during their time there.

In 2008, Oby had an internship at Google as a Software Engineer Intern, gaining practical experience at the company.

Prior to their software engineering roles, Oby worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as a Lab Technician. Oby focused on human breast cell research, specifically studying the effects of ionizing radiation on the cells and identifying protein markers for detecting radiation anomalies.

Oby Sumampouw completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Washington. Oby further pursued their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. Recently, they completed the MCIT program in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
