João L. A. de Melo is a seasoned Sr. ASIC Design Engineer currently working at Brookhaven National Laboratory and CERN, focusing on collaboration with the Alice ITS3 upgrade. With extensive experience in high-energy physics, João previously held the position of Senior Fellow at CERN, where research and design of radiation-tolerant particle detectors and readout ICs were conducted. Previous roles include Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer positions at Dialog Semiconductor and Adesto Technologies, where João led the design of Sigma-Delta ADCs across various applications. Earlier experience includes research in mixed signal ICs and teaching electronics at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. João earned a PhD in Electronics and an MSc in Electrical and Computer Science Engineering from the same institution.
