Martin Gastal is an experienced professional at CERN, serving since 2003 in various leadership roles including Partnership and Engagement Lead for the Open Quantum Institute, where partnerships are established to advance Quantum Computing through UN Sustainable Development Goals. Martin has also worked as an adviser for the Middle East and North Africa region, facilitating connections with scientific organizations and promoting CERN's geographical enlargement policy. As Project Manager, Martin leads a team overseeing the installation of a significant detector, and previously managed the CMS Engineering & Technology Interface to integrate new institutions into the CMS Collaboration. Prior to CERN, Martin served as an R&D engineer and project manager at IMEC, where a space-qualified micro-camera project was developed for the European Space Agency. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Project Management from The Open University and an MBA in Business Administration from Webster University, along with degrees in Physics and Physical Measurement.
