Shawn O'Brien

Shawn O'Brien is the current Associate Director at Cerulli Associates. Shawn has been with the company since October 2019 and in their current role, Shawn provides analysis of the retirement markets. Prior to joining Cerulli Associates, Shawn was a Research Associate at Harvard Business School where they co-authored case studies on investment management for professional and personal investors and managing and innovating in financial services. Shawn started their career at State Street Global Markets, LLC in 2012 as an Officer in Currency Management and was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2014. In this role, Shawn managed currency overlay strategies for large U.S. and international asset managers and asset owners. Shawn left State Street Global Markets in 2017 to join State Street Global Advisors as a Senior Associate in Portfolio Administration. Shawn was promoted to Associate Director at Cerulli Associates in 2019.

Shawn O'Brien has a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Merrimack College. Shawn also has a certification from the CFA Institute as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
