Carolina Olivares has a diverse work experience in the field of geoscience and petroleum analysis. Carolina started their career in 1999 at PDVSA Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. as a Geoscientist and Geochemist, where they worked until 2011. From 2012 to 2016, they worked at BP as a Petroleum System Analyst, focusing on the North Sea and Barents Sea basins. In 2016, they joined Syngenta as a Cell Biology Assistant, responsible for DH wheat production. Carolina continued working at Syngenta in 2017 as a Cell Biology Technician. Most recently, they have been working at CGG since 2018, first as a Senior Geochemist and currently as a Principal Geochemist and petroleum system analyst.

Carolina Olivares has a strong educational background in the field of geology and petroleum systems. Carolina completed their M.Philosophy degree in Organic Geochemistry & Petroleum Systems from Newcastle University from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, they pursued their MSc in Petroleum Geology from Universidad Central de Venezuela from 1994 to 1996, with a pending thesis. Carolina also obtained an MSc degree in Petroleum Geology from Universidad del Zulia from 1991 to 1993. Carolina'sundergraduate degree, Químico, Mención Geoquímico, was earned from Universidad Central de Venezuela, with a focus on Geochemical Prospecting, spanning from 1983 to 1990.

Additionally, they hold a Certificate in Environmental Assessment from ADL Canterbury, specializing in Environmental studies.
