Lari Vähäsalo

R&D Director, co-founder at CH-Bioforce Oy

Lari Vähäsalo has a long and varied work history. Lari began their career as a Researcher at Abo Akademi University in 2000, and in 2001 they became the Owner of Oy ACSI-Solutions Ab, where they built the first integrated student selection system for the two largest Business Schools in Finland. In 2004, they became the Chairman of the Board at Ab ArboNova Oy, where they worked on producing lignans, stilbenes and other phytochemicals for the chemical, food, feed and nutritional supplement industries. In 2005, they returned to Abo Akademi University as a Researcher. In 2012, they became a Board Member at BLN-Woods Ltd, where they worked on processing biomass in a way that had never been done before. Finally, in 2016, they became the R&D Director and co-founder of CH-Bioforce Oy, where they worked on developing and commercializing the technology of BLN-Woods and obtaining several new patents within biorefining.

Lari Vähäsalo attended Katedralskolan i Åbo from 1989 to 1992. Lari then went on to obtain their PhD in Paper Chemistry from Åbo Akademi University from 1992 to 2005. Lari also attended S:t Olofsskolan prior to their university education.
