Reason Emma Abajuo has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Reason Emma currently holds the position of VP, Legal & Corporate Affairs at Chaberton Energy, where they started in October 2022. Prior to this, they served as Director, Legal & Corporate Affairs at the same company from October 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Chaberton Energy, Reason worked as a Legal Counsel, Power Sector at The African Legal Support Facility from June 2019 to October 2021. In this role, they managed a portfolio of over US$10m in technical assistance grants/loans for power projects in various African countries. Reason Emma led the government engagement lifecycle and oversaw the quality control of agreements and opinions prepared by advisory teams.

Reason also gained experience at Aspen Power (previously Safari Energy LLC) as Legal Support to General Counsel, where they drafted contracts for solar asset acquisition and conducted legal due diligence. Reason Emma worked at Aspen Power from October 2018 to June 2019.

Furthermore, Reason has entrepreneurial experience as the Team Lead and Co-Founder of Anacho Solicitors, a boutique law firm. Reason Emma led a team of two lawyers and advised companies providing services to multinational oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Reason Emma'srole at Anacho Solicitors was from January 2017 to October 2018.

Reason's earlier work experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the Harvard Law Environmental & Energy Law Program, where they worked on electricity regulation projects from October 2017 to February 2018. Reason Emma also worked as an Associate at Olaniwun Ajayi LP, where they advised on various transactions and represented power sector clients in litigation and arbitration matters from November 2015 to October 2016.

Reason Emma Abajuo has an extensive education history. In 2017, they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law from Harvard Law School. During the same year, they also earned a Credential of Readiness (CORe) in Business from Harvard Business School Online. In 2014 and 2015, they attended the Nigerian Law School, where they received a BL (1st Class) degree in Law Practice. Reason Emma'searliest educational achievement was a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree with First Class honors from Abia State University, Uturu, which they obtained between 2008 and 2013. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained various certifications, including the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) from the Corporate Finance Institute® in 2021, the New York State Attorney and Counselor-at-Law from the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department in 2019, and finally, the Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria from the Body of Benchers, Nigeria in 2015.
