Richard Wallace

Richard Wallace Ph.D. brings extensive experience in education and the arts, currently serving as a Substitute Teacher for the Tuscaloosa County School District since October 2023. Previously, Richard held several academic roles at The University of Alabama from August 2020 to December 2023, including Part Time Temporary Instructor for courses like Introduction to Fine Arts and Creativity, and Strategic Athletic Tutor, successfully enhancing student athletes' learning. Richard served as an Adjunct Theatre Professor at Shelton State Community College and John C Calhoun State Community College, where innovative teaching methods were employed to connect theatre with popular culture. Prior administrative experience includes serving as Residential Community Director at The University of Alabama and founding Artistic Director of Optidefno, leading various theatrical productions. Richard's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Alabama, a Master of Arts in Educational Theatre from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Birmingham-Southern College.
