Gary Carter

Gary Carter has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Gary most recently worked as the Director of Safety and Security at Chambersburg Area School District since July 2019. Prior to that, they served in several roles at the Pa. State Police, including Troop Commander, Station Commander, Lieutenant, and Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) Tactical Team Member. Gary also worked as the Sergeant-SERT East Coordinator at the Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations. Additionally, they gained experience as an Assistant Football Coach at Shippensburg University Football. From 2003 to 2006, they co-owned Blue Mountain Sporting Goods, where they specialized in retail and team equipment and uniform sales for all sports.

Gary Carter earned their High School Diploma in College Prep from Chambersburg Area Senior High School from 1987 to 1990. Gary went on to attend Kaplan College from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a degree in Sociology-Criminal Justice, specializing in Criminal Justice/Police Science.
