Awilda Rosario

Director of Vector Sciences at Chameleon Biosciences

Awilda Rosario has worked in various roles across a number of companies since 2005. Awilda began their career at Brandon Orthopedics Associate as an Accounts Receivable, where they trained new employees to use the medical computer system, assisted patients with their bills and appointments, and managed Aetna Health Insurance appeals and explanations of benefits. In 2011, they joined the University of Florida as a Biological Scientist, where they managed Adeno Associated Virus Production and purification, completed over 1000 preps of AAV vector constructs, and increased the quality and titers of the rAAV preparations. In 2016, they moved to LakePharma, Inc. as a Scientist, where they designed molecular cloning strategies, managed the DNA Studio team, and conducted DNA sequencing analysis. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Adverum Biotechnologies, Inc. as an Associate Scientist, where they managed the plasmid core department, designed and cloned AAV capsids and transgenes, and built DNA libraries. Finally, since 2019, they have worked at Chameleon Biosciences, Inc. as the Director of Vector Sciences and Associate Director of Vector Sciences.

Awilda Rosario obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Tampa in 2005-2009. Awilda then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from the University of South Florida in 2009-2010. Finally, they obtained a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University in 2015-2018.
