Rylan Chong

Rylan Chong serves as the Computer Science Coordinator, Assistant Professor in Data Science, and Data Science Chair at Chaminade University of Honolulu since July 2018, and also holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in OBGYN Data Science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa since November 2020. Formerly a Graduate Researcher at Purdue University from 2011 to May 2018, Rylan conducted a PhD research study on cybersecurity self-efficacy and career development. Key contributions include developing and presenting research for the Information Security Research and Education (INSuRE) program, which enhanced cybersecurity education initiatives. Previous roles include Researcher at the Congressional Research Service, where a report was provided for federal cybersecurity evaluation, and Database Developer at Akimeka LLC, where applications improved medical records management. Rylan's educational background includes a PhD in Information Security from Purdue University, as well as multiple degrees and certificates from Purdue University and Chaminade University of Honolulu.
