Luisa Lemos MacHado

Luisa Lemos Machado is a highly experienced researcher in neurobiology and neurosciences, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Champalimaud Foundation since September 2022 and at CEDOC - Chronic Diseases Research Center, Nova Medical School, Lisbon since February 2019. Previously, Luisa held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia from May 2015 to October 2018, and served as a Research Fellow at iMed.UL for a brief period in early 2015. Luisa's academic background includes a PhD in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from Universitat de Barcelona, complemented by a Master's degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Luisa's research focuses on the implications of the JNK pathway in neuronal cell death, inflammation in neurodegenerative processes, and the identification of biomarkers in early stages of Alzheimer's Disease.
