Kamala Kesavan

Kamala Kesavan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kamala recently served as the Director of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships at Champions Oncology, Inc. Prior to that, they worked as a self-employed consultant from 2015 to 2022, specializing in discovery biology and technology evaluation. Kamala also had a brief stint as a consultant at Third Rock Ventures in 2014.

Kesavan's earlier roles include being a Senior Scientist in Cell and Molecular Biology at Aileron Therapeutics, where they played a key role in the pre-clinical development of stapled peptides. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist at TransMolecular, where their research revolved around tumor-targeting peptide therapeutic agents.

Kamala gained expertise in lymphocyte stem cell development during their time as a Post-doctoral Scientist at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology, and further expanded their knowledge on the Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase pathway during their tenure as a Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Kesavan's career started as a graduate student at Purdue University, where they focused on lymphocyte signal transduction. Overall, they have accumulated extensive experience in various fields of biology, including cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, and cancer research.

Kamala Kesavan has an extensive education history in the field of sciences. Kamala obtained their Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cellular Immunology from Purdue University, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. in Life Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, where they enrolled from 1992 to 1994. Kamala began their academic journey by earning a B.Sc. (Honors) in Botany Zoology Chemistry from Delhi University, where they studied from 1989 to 1992.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kamala also holds two certifications. Kamala obtained the Strategic Partnerships certification from LinkedIn Learning in March 2023. Furthermore, they obtained the PLIDA B1 Italian language certificate from the SOCIETÀ DANTE ALIGHIERI, Comitato di Saragozza in January 2022.
