Alexander Tarashansky

Alexander Tarashansky, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a position held since June 2022. Prior to this role, Alexander was a Software Engineer at the same organization and worked as a Data Scientist at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub from June 2021 to June 2022. Earlier experience includes a position as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Illumina from June 2020 to May 2021 and as a Graduate Researcher at Stanford University from September 2015 to June 2021. Alexander began a career in research as an Undergraduate Researcher at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering from September 2011 to May 2015. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in the same field from the University of Southern California.
