Mechanical Engineer at change:WATER Labs

Hayley Walker has a diverse range of work experience. Hayley began their career as a Clerk at Fred Meyer in 2014 and later worked as a Front Desk Attendant at Boston University Pappas Law Library. In 2015, they took on the role of a Seasonal Worker at Rader Farms Inc., performing assembly line work and heavy lifting. During the same year, they also worked as a Lab Assistant at the Engineering Product Innovation Center at Boston University, where they assisted students with engineering and product design.

In 2016, Hayley became a Residence Assistant at Boston University Events and Conferences, and also served as a Student Ambassador for The GREEN Program. In these positions, they advocated for sustainability and green technology, represented Boston University, and organized information sessions and events.

In 2017, Hayley joined change:WATER Labs as a Mechanical Engineer, where they developed innovative designs and prototypes for non-sewered waterless toilets. Hayley also served as a Research Affiliate at MIT D-Lab, supporting their efforts in developmental research. Hayley'srole at change:WATER Labs involved various responsibilities, including drafting CAD models, performing load analyses, and creating graphics for pitches.

In 2020, Hayley started working as a Design Science Fellow at Design Science Studio, collaborating with the Buckminster Fuller Institute and Habritual to create regenerative art and support a sustainable future for all life on earth.

Hayley Walker received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University College of Engineering from 2013 to 2017. In 2015, they also obtained a program certificate in Renewable Energy Studies from Iceland School of Energy - Reykjavik University. Additionally, in the same year, they attended Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where they focused on Mechanical Engineering. However, no specific degree was mentioned for this experience.
