Brian Thomason

Brian Thomason has diverse work experience in finance and leadership roles. Brian currently serves as the Vice President for Finance and Controller at Chapman University, where they oversee financial operations. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Vice President of Finance at the same institution.

Before joining Chapman University, Brian worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as an Executive Director from 2018 to 2021.

Brian's earlier experience includes working at Pepperdine University as the Associate Vice President and University Controller. In this role, they managed various departments and was a part of the university's ERP Core Team and University Planning Committee. Brian also served as an Adjunct Instructor of Accounting and Manager of Financial Planning during their time at Pepperdine.

Brian's career began at Abilene Christian University, where they worked as the Manager of Financial Planning and Reporting. Brian was involved in an ERP implementation project and managed budgeting processes, capital asset accounting, and financial auditing. Brian also developed and maintained a position budgeting system and finance and HR reporting environments.

Brian Thomason received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in Finance, graduating with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) from Abilene Christian University in 1999. Brian later pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Auburn University Harbert College of Business, completing their studies in 2005. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the California State Board of Accountancy.
