Sara Mattavelli

Faculty Fellow, Center For Excellence In Teaching And Learning at Chapman University

Sara Mattavelli, Ph.D., currently serves as a Faculty Fellow and Instructional Assistant Professor of Italian Studies at Chapman University, where responsibilities include designing and teaching language and culture courses for the Italian Studies Program and coordinating Italian Club activities. Prior to this, Sara held roles at Duolingo as a Content Writer, Duke University as an Instructor of Romance Studies, and William & Mary as a Teaching Innovation Fellow and Lecturer of Italian Studies. Sara has extensive teaching experience across various institutions, beginning with a role at Madison Area Technical College, and has contributed significantly to faculty development and program coordination. Sara holds a Ph.D. in Italian Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA from the University of Virginia, and a Laurea Specialistica from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
