Sergio Amaral

Sergio Amaral possesses a robust background in quantitative research and engineering, with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as a Volunteer Firefighter at Chappaqua Fire Department since July 2022, Sergio previously held significant roles in finance as a Key Employee at a Startup Hedge Fund from January 2024 to January 2025 and as a Quantitative Researcher & Developer at Citadel from February 2020 to January 2024, along with a similar position at Millennium from June 2016 to January 2020. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, along with a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University and a Research Master from the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. Sergio’s early career included engineering roles at General Electric, starting as an Entry Level Engineer and advancing through significant learning curves in heat transfer design.
