John Race

John Race has extensive experience in the automotive industry, specifically in paint facilities and manufacturing engineering. John currently works as the Paint Facility and Technical Lead at CHARGE CARS, starting in February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at McLaren Automotive Ltd as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Paint from July 2013 to February 2022. At McLaren Automotive, they were responsible for developing paint fixtures, tooling, and process maturation for various vehicle projects, as well as carrying out process improvements to enhance paint quality. Before joining McLaren Automotive, John worked at Britax Aircraft Cabin Interiors as an Aircraft Interior Paint Technician from January 2000 to January 2004.

John Race attended Guildford College of Technology from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a City & Guilds degree in Panel Beating / Paint Spraying / Mechanics. John later enrolled at Brooklands College from 2004 to 2008 and completed a Foundation Degree in Automotive Engineering Technology/Technician.
