Sophia Becker

Sophia Becker currently serves as Projektleiterin and Referentin for the Business Council for Democracy at Gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung since February 2022. Previously, Sophia was a Research Fellow focused on US Security and Defense Policy at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V. from February 2020 to March 2022, and a Research Consultant at Harvard Humanitarian Initiative between October 2018 and January 2020. Additional roles include Research Assistant at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, Summer Associate at the United Nations Office of the Victims’ Rights Advocate, Associate Research Fellow at Jacques Delors Institut – Berlin, and Policy Advisor to Dr. Norbert Roettgen at the Deutscher Bundestag. Sophia's earlier experience includes research positions at the European Council on Foreign Relations, CERI - Sciences Po, and the Ministere de la Defense - IRSEM in Paris. Sophia Becker holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Master of Philosophy in Political Science from Sciences Po, among other degrees.
