Laura Andes has a strong background in leadership and program evaluation in the nonprofit and government sectors. Laura is currently a Member at Chief, a private network focused on empowering women executives. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Program Officer at Charity Navigator, where they led the development of impact ratings methodologies and secured a significant grant.
From 2019 to 2021, Laura worked at Mercy Housing, first as the Senior Vice President of National Resident Services, where they oversaw the implementation of resident services programs and spearheaded efforts to adopt a more resident-centric model. Laura then served as the Director of Programs and Evaluation, leading the monitoring and evaluation of service outcomes and conducting key evaluations related to food insecurity, housing stability, and healthcare utilization.
Laura's earlier experience includes roles at USAID, where they held various positions from 2005 to 2015. Laura served as the Division Chief of Strategy, Analysis, Evaluation, and Outreach in the Bureau for Global Health, where they were responsible for program planning, performance improvement, and reporting. Laura also supported USAID's malaria program as a Public Health Advisor/Malaria Element Head, and as a Public Health Advisor, they contributed to the day-to-day operations of the President's Malaria Initiative.
Laura began their career as a Presidential Management Fellow at The National Institutes of Health and USAID, where they gained experience in various government agencies related to global health.

Laura Andes attended Harvard Business School Executive Education from 2021 to 2022, where they pursued a degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management called Neighborworks Achieving Excellence. Prior to that, they studied at the Yale School of Public Health from 2001 to 2003, earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a specialization in Global Health. Laura's undergraduate education took place at the University of Michigan from 1996 to 2000, where they received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry.
