Darnell Russell

Darnell Russell currently serves as Principal at CHARLES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS since July 2021, following a tenure with the Charles County Board of Education from August 2010 to June 2021, where Darnell held positions as Vice Principal, School Administrator, and Teacher, specializing in middle and high school history and social studies. Darnell holds a Doctor of Education in School System Leadership from the University of Maryland, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Leadership from McDaniel College, and a Bachelor's Degree in History with a minor in Social Studies from Salisbury University. In addition to educational roles, Darnell has experience as a Facility Attendant for Charles County Government, overseeing community activities, and has actively contributed to community service as a Camp Co-op teacher for students with disabilities. Darnell is certified in both history for grades 7-12 and special education, and has participated in extracurricular activities such as coaching girls' basketball and teaching AVID electives, with proficiency in smart board technologies.
