Dr. Rachel Schechter

Founder of LXD Research at Charles River Media Group

Dr. Rachel Schechter has extensive experience in the field of educational research and program evaluation. Dr. Rachel is currently the Founder of LXD Research at Charles River Media Group, where their team focuses on designing and conducting studies to provide evidence and insights for educational technology companies. Prior to this, Dr. Schechter served as the VP of Learning Sciences at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where they chaired the Learning Science and Research Advisory Board and led a team that brought research from conferences and publications to inform product development. Dr. Rachel was also the Director of Research at Lexia Learning, where they grew a small team into a twelve-person department and focused on data-informed design and efficacy research. Dr. Schechter started their career at Goodman Research Group, Inc. as a Program Evaluation Project Manager. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving educational experiences and ensuring equity in education.

Dr. Rachel Schechter has an extensive education history. Dr. Rachel earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Child Development from Tufts University, where they studied from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained an Ed.M. degree in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, attending from 2002 to 2003. Their undergraduate education took place at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a BA in Psychology and Theater Education and a BDIC degree.

In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Schechter has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they became Pragmatic Marketing Certified Level III through the Pragmatic Institute (Pragmatic Marketing + TDI). Dr. Rachel also completed the Women in Leadership certification from eCornell in February 2019. Most recently, in July 2021, they obtained the New SBER PI/New Research Team Members, including Students certification from the CITI Program.
