Ellen Chien

Ellen Chien is the first person Mott employees think of when they’re having problems with their computers, phones, laptops or other devices. Her endless patience and good humor help everybody on staff feel slightly less stupid when they’re experiencing technical difficulties.

Chien began working as an intern with what was then the Foundation’s Information Technology department in 2010, returning in 2012 as a technical support analyst. Promoted to Information Technology Manager in 2019, she is now responsible for managing all aspects of the Foundation’s technology and communications infrastructure.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, where she received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, she also earned a master’s degree in systems engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. A certified yoga instructor, she teaches on weekends at her local studio. She’s also a very talented baker, whose birthday treats are always in demand by her coworkers.
