Jon’Tise S. Lewis

Administrative Assistant, Communications at Charles Stewart Mott Foundation

A wedding singer and talented musical theater performer, Jon’Tise Lewis held several interesting jobs before joining Mott in 2013, including a stint as a rat trainer for the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor’s biology lab. Just a few credits shy of her bachelor’s degree in biopsychology at the University of Michigan, she took a hiatus from her education to care for her grandmother through her final illness. Over the past several years, she’s volunteered with several Flint and Detroit area nursing homes, as well as Flint’s North End Soup Kitchen, Shelter of Flint, Carriage Town Ministries, and various Flint and Detroit area churches. Lewis was ordained a minister in 2007, with a specialization in music ministry. Currently, she co-leads her church’s music department with her husband, who is the minister of music. Whenever possible, the couple includes their young son in the family ministry. Lewis was promoted to administrative assistant for Mott’s vice president of Communications in 2015.
