Joy DeSomber is an experienced professional currently serving as a Deputy at Charleston County Sheriff's Office since November 2021. Prior to this role, Joy held various positions within the insurance industry, including Claims Specialist II and Subrogation Specialist at Nationwide, where responsibilities included training new hires and handling OLF files. Joy also served as a Co-Founder of Empowering Children of Incarcerated Parents, promoting awareness of the needs of this unique demographic. Additional experience includes claims representation at Guide One Insurance, Northland Insurance Company, American Family Insurance, and Progressive Insurance. Joy's military service in the US Navy included roles as Command Fitness Coordinator and Boat Engineer.
