Joel Emery

Joel Emery has over 25 years of professional experience in the technology industry. In 1994, they began their career as a Development Engineer at Ascom, where they worked on hardware engineering, ASIC design, and embedded software development for telecommunications products. Joel then moved to Marconi PLC in 1999 as Software Manager. In 2000, they joined Lucent Worldwide Services as a Networking Consultant, where they provided consulting services for networking and storage area network customers in Switzerland. In 2001, they took a role as Software Developer/Engineering Manager at PhotoNami Inc., where they led an embedded software development team to build an optical network switch and successfully led system integration and completion of a fully functional prototype. Joel then moved to Imagine Communications in 2002 as an Engineering Manager. In 2005, they joined Wind River as Vice President of Products, where they managed the product portfolio for their Helix Management Platform. Joel then took on the role of Vice President and General Manager of the IoT Business and Senior Director of Business Development, where they drove Wind River and Intel business collaboration to create joint solutions. In 2017, they joined GE Digital as Head of Engineering, where they applied AI and machine learning technology to solve complex data integration problems. In 2020, they became Owner of North Horizon Consulting LTD. and in 2019 they joined Charli AI as Chief Product Officer, leading product efforts for their AI-driven intelligent content management platform.

Joel Emery obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Telecommunications from the University of Fribourg in Applied Sciences (school of engineering) between 1991 and 1994. In September 2005, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
