Chuck Baldecchi

Head of School at Charlotte Latin School

A seasoned independent school leader, Chuck Baldecchi comes to Charlotte Latin School from The Lexington School in Lexington, Kentucky, where he served as the Head of School for 15 years (2004-2019). To Latin, he brings a broad understanding of independent schools and was instrumental in leading The Lexington School in strategic planning and execution, developing innovative curriculum and programs, and notably increasing the school’s annual fund, capital, and endowment campaigns.

Baldecchi also served previously as Director of Admissions at The Asheville School, a co-educational 9-12 boarding and day school in Asheville, North Carolina. He taught English and coached at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia (also his high school alma mater), and served as Summer Programs Assistant Dean of Students at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut.

A Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University, Baldecchi received his Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. He graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English Literature.

Chuck and his wife, Erin, have three children — Bella ’21, Alex ’23, and Cade ’25. He enjoys sailing, skiing, philosophy, and time with his family, especially in Maryland at the family’s summer home.
