Domestic Violence Victim Advocate at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department

Adelaide Auman has over two decades of experience in domestic violence advocacy, currently serving as a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department since January 2000. Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention counseling, managing a caseload of 35-50 cases monthly, and facilitating referrals to vital services, including restraining orders and long-term counseling. Auman also conducts community presentations, maintains accurate case records, and researches current case law. Prior to this role, Auman worked as a Family Law Paralegal at Legal Services of Southern Piedmont, where responsibilities included client interviews and translating legal documents for Spanish-speaking clients. Auman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human and Community Services and Spanish from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
