Dorian Jackman

Substitute Double Bassist at CHARLOTTE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA SOCIETY INC

Dorian Jackman is a highly skilled double bassist with extensive experience in various symphony orchestras and educational roles. Currently serving as a substitute double bassist for multiple organizations, including the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and Richmond Symphony, Dorian has a long history in orchestral performance, highlighted by a position as section double bassist with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to 2023. In addition to performance, Dorian is a cello teaching artist at 18 Degrees Family Services for Western Massachusetts, working with pre-college students in an El Sistema inspired program. Dorian holds a Doctor of Music degree in Double Bass Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, as well as a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in the same discipline from the same institution and Illinois State University, respectively.
