Abby Tammen

Abby Tammen has a strong background in association management and event planning. Abby most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer at the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS, starting in September 2019. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director of Programs and MLS Operations at the same organization, starting in January 2014. Prior to their time at the Charlottesville Association, Abby worked at NACAS, where they held various roles including Associate Executive Director and Director of Educational Programs & Services. In these roles, they managed member services, professional development, event planning, and certification. Abby also oversaw the planning and execution of educational events and conferences, including site selection, contracting, logistics, and speaker selection. Abby has a proven track record of leadership and management in the association industry.

Abby Tammen holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University, which was obtained from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University from 1993 to 1997, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Communication Journalism. In addition to their academic qualifications, Abby Tammen has also obtained certifications as a Certified Meeting Professional from the Convention Industry Council in 2005 and 2011.
