Brian Demaris

Brian DeMaris is an accomplished artistic professional with extensive experience in music theatre and opera. Currently serving as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor at Arizona State University since August 2015, as well as the Season Conductor for Charlottesville Opera since June 2023, DeMaris has held numerous prominent positions, including Principal Conductor at Anchorage Opera and Music Director at Mill City Summer Opera. With a strong educational background, including a Master's Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor's Degree from Ithaca College, DeMaris has also contributed as Faculty Artist at the Aspen Music Festival and as Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at Ithaca College. Previous experience includes roles with prestigious organizations such as Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Florida Grand Opera, and New York City Opera, where DeMaris has showcased expertise in conducting and music direction across a variety of productions.
