Missions Development Engineer (Founding Team) at Charter

Kristina Andreyeva has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Kristina is currently working as a SERC Graduate Research Assistant at USC Information Sciences Institute, where they lead the STARFISH Project, developing an autonomously locomoting soft robot. Kristina is also a part of the CLINGERS AIT Team, involved in assembling and testing the docking mechanism for an Astrobee payload set to launch in 2023. Additionally, Kristina is the lead on the REACCH Project, working on an underactuated robot inspired by an octopus.

Prior to their current role, they worked as a Missions Development Engineer (Founding Team) at Charter since February 2022. From 2018 to 2021, they served as an Applications Engineer at Voxel8: Multi-Material Digital Manufacturing. Before that, they were a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager at Infinite Orbits from 2016 to 2018.

In 2016, Kristina had a research role as an Undergraduate Researcher at Creative Machines and completed an internship at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Kristina also co-founded Columbia Space Initiative and served as the Mission Lead from 2015 to 2017. Kristina started their engineering journey as an Engineer at Columbia University Formula SAE - Knickerbocker Motorsports from 2014 to 2015.

In addition to their engineering work, Kristina also has experience as an English teacher in China during the summer of 2015.

Kristina Andreyeva began their education at Columbia Engineering, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2013 to 2017. Kristina then continued their studies at the University of Southern California, completing a Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in the same field at the University of Southern California, expected to be completed in 2026.
