Ruth Townend

Ruth Townend is a Research Fellow specializing in Climate Diplomacy and Risk at Chatham House since June 2021. Previously, Ruth served as a Research Manager and Senior Research Executive focused on Energy and Environment at Ipsos MORI from August 2013 to June 2021. Earlier experience includes positions as a Senior Researcher in Environment and Sustainable Behaviour at Brook Lyndhurst (2009-2013), and roles in outreach and fundraising at Survival International (2006-2009) as both an Outreach and Fundraising Officer and a Departmental Assistant. Ruth began a career in a project assistant role at London Refugee Economic Action (LORECA) in early 2006. Ruth holds a BA(hons) in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, earned between 2002 and 2005, and completed secondary education at Lady Manners School from 1994 to 2001.
