Lauren Murphy is an experienced musician and educator currently serving as a Naturalist and Canoe Guide at Chattahoochee Nature Center, Inc. since June 2023. Lauren holds a position as the 3rd Clarinet/Bass Clarinet with the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra since September 2021 and has been self-employed as a Clarinetist and Educator since May 2015. Additional teaching roles include being a Private Clarinet Instructor since May 2008 and having instructed various instruments at Music & Arts and New School of Music, Inc. Lauren has also served as a Worship Leader at St. Paul United Methodist Church and has experience as a Music Therapist at Crescendo Music, LLC. With a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and Clarinet Performance from Illinois State University and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Georgia State University, Lauren possesses a strong educational background in music.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center's (CNC) mission is to connect people with nature. Being outdoors is more important than ever to our communities' health and well-being. At CNC, visitors of all ages have 127-acres to safely explore and endless opportunities to connect with nature while learning about Georgia's ecosystem. CNC features three ponds, six woodland and wetland trails, including a newly renovated 2,000-foot river boardwalk. We offer a space for quiet, reflective moments, or more active options such as hiking, ziplining, or canoeing. CNC also offers programs involving rehabilitated native wildlife, horticulture, photography, art, and more.
